Sintra Travertine Adjustable Wall Light

Sintra pairs a solid travertine cylinder with a pale wood backplate and a small brass pivot. The stone keeps its open pitting and fine banding, so no two shades carry quite the same pattern across the surface. A single bulb sits deep inside the cylinder, which hides the source and lets the beam leave the open end as a soft column of light rather than a hard spot on the wall.

The head tilts on the brass joint, so one fitting becomes either a reading light angled down beside a bed or a wash of light aimed up a wall. It is supplied in beige travertine with a pale wood backplate, measuring 8 cm wide and 23 cm tall, and carries a single lamp. Materials are metal, travertine stone and wood, and the fitting is damp rated for use in wetter rooms.

The narrow footprint suits a pair flanking a bed, a fitting either side of a mirror, or a run along a hallway where a wider shade would crowd the wall. Because it is damp rated, a bathroom also suits it, provided it is placed in line with the zone rules for the room. Installation is hardwired and should be carried out by a qualified electrician. Dust the stone with a dry brush.
