The fabric is a silk-finish microfibre with a satin surface: cool to the touch, fluid in the way it falls over the edge of a mattress, and reflective enough to give the bed some depth under a bedside lamp. It is a considerably more practical proposition than real silk, since it washes in a domestic machine, dries fast and does not need specialist care. Two colours are offered: red for warmth and drama, white for a clean hotel look.

Wash at thirty degrees on a gentle cycle with similar colours and tumble dry cool or line dry. Satin finishes snag, so wash separately from anything with zips, hooks or Velcro, and keep it away from rough jewellery. If you press it, use a cool iron on the reverse. The cushion covers are supplied as covers only; pads are not included.
