Slim Disc LED Ceiling Light, 40 to 60cm

This is about as plain as a ceiling light gets, and that is the point. A flat aluminium disc with an acrylic face, sitting tight against the ceiling, giving broad even light with no shadows and nothing to catch the eye. In a room where the interest is at eye level, in the furniture, the art and the textiles, a fitting that quietly disappears is worth more than one that competes.

Three sizes cover most rooms. The 40cm handles a bedroom or a home office, the 50cm a living room or a large kitchen, and the 60cm a big open-plan space or a room with a high ceiling where light has further to travel. Aluminium is used for the body rather than plastic, which helps the LED run cooler and keeps the edge of the disc looking crisp rather than creamy over time.

Warm white and cold white are offered as separate options: warm for living and sleeping rooms, cold where the light needs to be practical, such as a kitchen or a workshop. The LED is integrated and runs on standard 220 to 240 volt mains. It is a hardwired fitting for dry indoor locations and should be installed by a qualified electrician, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
