Slim LED Mirror Wall Light

A mirror light has one job that a ceiling fitting cannot do: light a face from the front rather than from above, so it casts no shadow under the brow and the chin. This is a slim horizontal bar, 18cm deep, that mounts on the wall directly above a mirror. The diffuser runs the full length, so the light is a continuous line rather than a row of visible points. It also sits close enough to the wall that a door or a cupboard front can open past it without catching.

Three lengths are offered. The 40cm suits a small round mirror or a cloakroom; the 60cm matches most standard rectangular mirrors; the 80cm is for a wide vanity or a double basin. Black or white bodies are available, and each comes in fixed warm white, a cleaner cool white, or a three-colour version switchable from the wall for grooming and for evening use.

One important caveat: although it is styled as a bathroom fitting, the manufacturer rates it for dry locations only. That means it is suitable above a dressing table, in a bedroom or in a cloakroom well away from the basin and shower, but it must not be installed inside bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2. Have an electrician confirm the zone before fitting it.
