Smoked Glass Pendant Pair

Sold as a matched pair, these pendants are designed to be hung together over an island, a dining table or a run of worktop. Buying two at once removes the usual problem of matching a second fitting later, when the finish has changed or the line has been discontinued. Each shade measures twenty-six centimetres across with an overall drop of one hundred centimetres from the ceiling.

Smoked glass is a good choice for a pendant hung at eye level, because it takes the hard edge off the bulb without hiding it completely. The tint deepens towards the top of the shade and lightens near the rim, so the fitting looks considered whether it is switched on or off. The metalwork is kept deliberately plain to let the glass carry the design.

Each pendant uses an LED light source. The drop can be shortened at installation to suit a lower ceiling, and the two fittings can be hung at the same height or staggered depending on the run they are lighting. They are hardwired and should be fitted only to ceiling points rated for their weight, by a qualified electrician, with the circuit isolated at the consumer unit before work begins.
