A shallow saucer of a light, twelve centimetres across and only five deep, designed to sit flat against a fence panel, a gate post or a garden wall. The disc washes light downward across the surface it is fixed to rather than throwing it out into the garden, which is what you want along a path or a boundary where glare into a neighbour's window would be the obvious failure.
The body is aluminium with a polycarbonate diffuser and the whole unit weighs two hundred grams, so it fixes to a timber fence panel with nothing more than screws. It is solar powered with an integrated LED producing eighty lumens at a nominal five volts, which means there is no cable to bury and no supply to isolate, and nothing at all to switch on in the evening.
Two finishes and two light colours are offered; warm white at 3000K suits planting and timber, while cool white at 5000K reads as brighter and more utilitarian on a rendered wall. Mount the unit somewhere the panel gets several hours of direct sun, and fix it securely, as an unsecured light on a fence will work loose in wind. The LED cannot be replaced by the user.
