Solar Lawn Path Light 42cm

Marking the edge of a lawn or the line of a border is easier when the markers light themselves. This path light stands roughly 42cm tall and measures about 15cm across, tall enough to read clearly from a window yet slim enough to sit among planting without dominating it. The body is moulded ABS, which shrugs off rain and frost, and it is supplied as a single light so you can build a run at whatever spacing suits.

Power comes from a 4.5V solar panel feeding an LED, and the whole thing is weather resistant. Operation is automatic from dusk to dawn: the light senses failing daylight, switches itself on and switches off again in the morning, with no timer to programme and no switch to remember. As with any solar fitting, a position that catches several hours of unobstructed daylight will give a stronger, longer glow than one tucked under a tree.

Installation is genuinely a two-minute job. The spike pushes straight into soft ground, so there is no trench, no cable and no electrician involved; water the ground first if the soil has baked hard. Handle the spike carefully, keep it out of reach of children, and site each light clear of paths so nobody walks into one in the dark. The battery is built in, so at the end of the light's working life please recycle it rather than sending it to landfill.
