Solar Motion Sensor Security Spotlight

Side returns, back gates and gravel driveways tend to be the corners of a home that never quite get lit. This solar spotlight is built for exactly those spots: an aluminium body, an 18W output and a motion sensor that picks up movement out to roughly five metres, so the beam arrives as someone approaches rather than burning away all night.

Four modes cover most habits. Sensor mode switches the light on only when movement is detected; sensor with dimming holds a low glow and lifts to full brightness on approach; constant dim and constant bright keep the output steady. Whichever you choose, the light drops back one minute after movement stops. Daylight charges the built-in lithium cell, and USB top-up charging is there for a run of grey weeks.

An IP65 rating means rain and dust are not a problem on an exposed wall, and the LED is rated to 50,000 hours, so there is nothing to swap out season after season. Angle the head across the ground you actually want covered rather than towards glazing, and it does a quiet, useful job. Treat it as lighting for convenience and visibility: it is not a monitored alarm system and should not stand in for one. Supplied as a single light.
