Solid Wood Linear Wall Light 60cm

A linear wall light 60cm long, cut from solid wood with the LED strip recessed into a channel along its length. The wood is the whole fitting rather than a decorative facing, so the grain runs continuously and the edges are chamfered rather than capped in metal. Mounted horizontally above a headboard or vertically beside a doorway, it gives a long soft line of light with no visible diode and no glare.

Two forms are offered. The one-sided version throws light in a single direction, which is what you want when it sits above a picture or beneath a shelf. The two-sided version emits both up and down, filling a wall more evenly and working better as the only light source in a corridor. Four output options are available: warm light at 3000K, white at 5000K, a three-colour switchable version, and a continuously dimmable one.

The dimmable option is worth the small premium in a bedroom, where being able to take the level right down matters more than raw brightness. Voltage is 220 to 240V for the UK, and the fitting weighs 1.2kg, light enough to hang on two plugged fixings in plasterboard. It is hardwired, so it needs to be installed on a circuit. Wood is hygroscopic: keep it away from steam and do not clean it with a wet cloth.
