Solid Wood Shell Wall Light

Solid timber makes an unusually warm wall light because the wood itself picks up the colour of the bulb and glows faintly at the edges. This fitting is twenty-one centimetres high and just under twenty-five wide, with the shade shaped either as a plain round disc or as a shallow shell with a scalloped lower edge. Both push light up the wall and out into the room rather than straight ahead.

The round version is the quieter of the two and suits a hallway or a study where the fitting should not draw attention. The shell has a little more decoration and works better in a bedroom or a living room, especially against plain paint where the scalloped edge shows up. A smaller nineteen centimetre shell is also available if the wall is narrow or the fitting is going beside a doorway.

Three light options are offered: warm white for evenings, cold white for task areas, and a remote-controlled dimmable version if you want to adjust the level without a wall switch. The fitting runs on eighty-five to two hundred and sixty-five volts and covers roughly five to ten square metres. It is hardwired, so have it fitted by a qualified electrician and isolate the circuit first.
