Sonvel Travertine Linear Pendant Light

The Sonvel runs a single bar of yellow travertine across the length of a table. The stone keeps its open, pitted surface, so the bar reads as a solid piece of rock rather than a manufactured housing, and the pale wood ceiling canopy above it stays deliberately quiet. Travertine forms naturally, so the pitting, the banding and the tone vary along the bar and between one piece and the next.

An integrated LED strip sits along the underside behind an acrylic diffuser, throwing a soft warm 3000K wash straight down onto the table rather than out into the room. Because the light source is built in, there is no bulb to change and no visible lamp, which keeps the profile down to 4.5 cm deep. The bar measures 80 cm long, and the steel suspension cables adjust up to 150 cm.

At that length Sonvel suits a four to six seat dining table, a kitchen island or a long console where a round pendant would leave the ends dark. Set the drop so the bar sits clear of sightlines across the table, then fix the cables to length. The fitting is hardwired, so a qualified electrician should carry out the installation.
