Sorting Laundry Hamper, Two or Three Section

Sorting laundry at the point of taking it off is the only version of the job that actually saves time, and it requires a hamper with more than one hole in it. This one splits into two or three fabric compartments on a single frame, so darks, lights and anything that needs a cooler wash go straight into separate sections rather than being picked apart on the utility room floor.

The shell is Oxford fabric, a tightly woven synthetic that resists snagging and wipes clean, hung on a reinforced aluminium frame. That combination keeps the hamper rigid enough to stand open on its own but light enough to carry full, and the whole thing folds flat when it is not needed, which matters in a small flat where a permanent laundry basket is a real cost in floor space.

The two-section version measures fifty-nine by thirty-eight and a half by fifty-six centimetres; the three-section is sixty-four and a half by thirty-nine and a half by the same height. Both have carrying handles at the top and are open rather than lidded, which lets damp towels breathe instead of sitting sealed. Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and let it dry before folding.
