Sorvo Amber Glass Semi Flush Ceiling Light

The Sorvo pairs a rounded amber-tinted glass dome with a short brushed brass rod and a round brass ceiling plate. The glass is thick at the rim and flattens off at the base, so the shade reads as a solid rounded form rather than a plain globe. At 25cm across it holds its own in a hallway or an entrance without dominating a small room, and the brass is brushed rather than polished.

Inside the shade sits a small mirrored reflector cup that bounces light back through the amber glass. Lit, the fixture glows a warm honey tone and throws soft reflections across the ceiling; unlit, the tinted glass still catches daylight and reads as a warm brown accent against a pale wall. The E27 lamp holder takes a standard screw bulb, and an LED bulb is supplied in the box.

A short 10cm drop rod keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, which makes the Sorvo a practical choice for a landing, a hallway or a bedroom with limited head height, where a longer pendant would sit in the way. It is a hardwired fitting, so a qualified electrician should carry out the installation. The glass wipes clean with a dry soft cloth once the power has been switched off at the wall.
