Square LED Ceiling Light 20cm

A twenty centimetre square, seven deep, in iron with an acrylic face. Square fittings are rarer than round ones and they behave differently on a ceiling: they line up with door frames, alcoves and kitchen units rather than floating independently of them, which makes them a better fit in a room with strong straight lines already in it.

For its size it is bright. Twenty-four watts and around 1920 lumens covers five to fifteen square metres, which means a single unit handles a hallway, a bathroom lobby, a study or a small bedroom without needing support. It runs on standard 220 to 240 volt mains and the LED is integrated, so the depth stays shallow and there is never a lamp to change or a diffuser to unclip and drop.

Black and gold are offered. Black is the sharper choice and holds its own against a white ceiling; gold picks up on brass handles, taps and rails elsewhere in the room. Both come in cold white, which is the practical tone for the sort of spaces this fitting suits. It is hardwired, rated for dry indoor locations only, and should be installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated first.
