Stainless Steel and Ceramic Soap Dispenser

This is the dispenser to buy if the last three have leaked, blocked or fallen apart. It is built in two pieces — a ceramic body and a stainless steel collar and pump — which means the whole thing comes apart for cleaning rather than trapping dried soap somewhere you cannot reach. That single design decision is the difference between a dispenser that lasts a year and one that lasts a decade.

Three finishes are offered. Plain white is the safest and disappears against any basin. White marble adds a little pattern without shouting. Green is the one with real character and looks best against brass or warm wood. All three pair with the brushed steel collar, which resists limescale marks better than chrome does.

Two sizes are available: the small suits a cloakroom basin or a shower shelf where space is tight, and the regular holds more for a family bathroom or a kitchen sink. Being weighted ceramic rather than plastic, neither slides about on a wet surface. Take the top off to refill from a bulk container, rinse the pump through with warm water every few weeks, and hand wash the body. Fired ceramic will chip if dropped on tiles, so keep it back from the edge of the basin.
