Stainless Steel Kitchen Wall Rack

Worktop space is the scarcest thing in a small kitchen, and most of what sits on it — oils, jars, the knives you use daily — would be happier on the wall. This rack takes all three: a flat shelf across the top, a row of removable hooks beneath it, and a slotted knife holder at one end that keeps blades edge-down and out of a drawer.

It is made from brushed 304 stainless steel, the grade used for commercial kitchen fittings, so it will not rust above a hob or beside a sink and can be scrubbed without marking. The shelf has a raised lip so jars cannot be knocked off, the hooks slide along the bar to whatever spacing your utensils need, and the knife slots are cut wide enough for a chef's knife and narrow enough that a paring knife does not drop through.

Three widths — 30, 40 and 50 cm — plus two versions with an additional hanging shelf below for boards or pan lids. Fixings for masonry and plasterboard are included. Check for pipes and cables before drilling, use the correct plugs for your wall type, and keep knives out of reach of children.
