Steel Under Shelf Storage Rack

Every kitchen cupboard has the same wasted space: the gap between the top of the tins and the underside of the shelf above. This rack slides onto the existing shelf and hangs a second tier in that gap, which is the cheapest way to add storage to a kitchen short of building another cupboard.

It is steel throughout rather than coated wire, so it takes real weight without sagging in the middle — the usual failure of the plastic versions. There is no drilling, no bracket and no tool involved: it simply hooks over the shelf and stays there under its own load. That also means it can be moved to a different cupboard whenever the kitchen is reorganised.

In practice it is best for the light, awkward things that fall over on a flat shelf — cling film and foil rolls, spice jars, sachets, small packets and baking paper. Two finishes are offered, white to disappear inside a pale cupboard and black for open shelving or a pantry where the rack is visible. It also works under a bathroom shelf or in a wardrobe. Check the shelf is thick enough for the rack to grip properly, and distribute the load evenly rather than loading one end.
