Swirl Form LED Table Lamp 22cm

A small lamp where the diffuser is the whole design - a single ribbon of acrylic turned into a wave, a swirl or a cloud, set on a metal foot with the LED at the base. The light travels up through the acrylic rather than out of it, so the form glows along its edges and the surfaces read as solid. Switched off it is a piece of abstract sculpture; lit, it is the softest light in a room.

Three forms are offered. Wave is the most horizontal and the calmest of the three, and it carries a long shelf well. Swirl is the most three-dimensional and looks different from every angle, which makes it the one for a table people walk around. Cloud is the softest silhouette and the least formal - it suits a bedroom or a child's room better than a drawing room.

All three are the same size, 11 centimetres square in plan and 22 tall, which is small enough to place on a shelf, a nightstand or a windowsill without committing much space to it. The light is a soft warm white and the lamp is mains operated with a switch on the cord rather than battery-powered. Keep it clear of curtains, wipe the acrylic with a soft damp cloth only, and avoid solvents, which will craze the surface permanently.
