Tall Drop Pendant Light 120cm

A pendant built to be seen down its whole length rather than looked up into. The frame is 120 centimetres tall and 30 square in plan, with glass panels set into a slim metal cage, and the LED running inside it lights the glass from within so the whole column glows rather than the light pooling at the bottom. It is a statement piece and should be treated as one.

The natural home for something this tall is a stairwell or a double-height hallway, where it can hang into the void and be read from two floors. Over a long dining table it works as a single vertical centrepiece, or in a pair at either end where the table is very long. In a standard room with a 2.4 metre ceiling it will hang low, so measure before committing - this is not a fitting for a low kitchen.

Black gives the strongest drawing against a pale wall and reads as a graphic line in the space. White is quieter and disappears more readily into a light stairwell. The output is 40 watts of warm white at 3000K, which is generous for a decorative fitting. It is hardwired mains work: installation by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated, and only to a ceiling point rated for the weight of the fixture.
