Tilting Aluminium Ceiling Spotlight

A compact surface-mounted spotlight for putting light exactly where it is wanted rather than spreading it evenly over a room. The head tilts through 85 degrees and rotates a full 350 degrees within its aluminium housing, so a run of them along a ceiling can be aimed at artwork, a worktop or a set of shelves and re-aimed later when the furniture moves. The body measures 100mm square.

Two outputs are offered. The 7W version suits accent work and shorter throws; the 12W is bright enough to act as the main light over a kitchen island or a desk. Both come in a 36-degree beam, which is tight enough to define an object without leaving the surrounding wall in darkness, and in either a warm 3000K or a neutral 4000K tone. Black and white finishes are available.

Aluminium is used for the housing because it draws heat away from the LED, which is the single biggest factor in how long these fittings last. This is a mains fitting rated 90 to 260V and must be installed by a qualified electrician on an isolated circuit. Check the ceiling void for cables and pipework before cutting or drilling, and allow a little clearance around each head so the housing can shed its heat freely.
