Travertine Up & Down Wall Light

Travertine is a natural stone, so every one of these is slightly different: the banding, the pale gold tone and the small open pores are all part of the material rather than a printed finish. Light leaves the fitting upward and downward in two narrow fans, grazing the wall surface. On brick, render or stone that grazing light is what makes the texture of the wall visible at night.

Two forms are offered. The square is 12cm by 12cm and suits a run of several along a garden wall or either side of a front door. The rectangular is 16cm tall and 8cm wide, a more upright proportion that works flanking a doorway or beside a house number. Both project the same twin beams and take the same fixings. Because the stone is cut rather than cast, the pale banding runs differently through every fitting, so a row of them is never quite uniform.

It is rated IP65, which covers driving rain and hose-down cleaning, so it can go outside on a porch, a garden wall or a patio, or inside in a hallway or a stairwell where you want the same effect. The LED is integrated at a warm 3000K and is supplied fitted. Outdoor mains wiring must be installed by a qualified electrician on a suitably protected circuit.
