Trestle Linear Pendant Light 77cm

Long tables and kitchen islands are badly served by round pendants, which light the middle and leave the ends dim. The Trestle answers that with a 77cm solid wood beam carrying a row of small iron shades set at staggered heights, so the light lands along the length of the surface rather than in one circle. The wood is left visible, which keeps a fitting this wide from looking industrial. The staggered heights also break up the reflection in a glossy worktop, which a straight row of identical shades tends to make worse.

Four colourways are offered. White, grey and green are single-colour runs; the mixed option combines all three across the shades for a more playful look over a kitchen island. Each colourway comes in warm, white or neutral light, or a three-colour version that cycles between them from the wall switch, so you can change the mood without rewiring anything.

The cord adjusts to about 150cm and the fitting is shallow at only 5cm deep, so it hangs low over a table without dominating a room with a normal ceiling height. LEDs are integrated and supplied. It is rated IP20 for dry rooms and covers roughly 10-15 square metres. Dust the shades and the beam with a dry cloth, circuit switched off.
