Upright Tissue Box Holder

A tissue holder that stands upright rather than lying flat, which solves a problem most people have stopped noticing: a box of tissues on a side table takes up a surprising amount of surface, and the printed carton rarely suits the room it is in. Standing the box on its end reduces the footprint to about a third and hides the packaging entirely.

The holder is 25.5 centimetres tall, 13 wide and 7.8 deep, with a weighted base so that pulling a tissue does not tip the whole thing over - which is the failure mode of every lightweight version of this idea. It takes a standard rectangular box, loaded from the bottom, and the opening at the top is sized so one tissue comes away cleanly rather than bringing three with it.

Four colours are offered: blue, yellow, purple and pink. They are clear, saturated tones rather than pastels, so the holder is meant to be seen - a deliberate spot of colour on a desk, a bathroom shelf, a hall console or a bedside table. The moulded ABS is smooth and wipes clean with a damp cloth, and it will not mark a wooden surface. Tissues are not included.
