Vardo Black Round Outdoor Wall Light

The Vardo sets a slim opal acrylic disc inside a deep black metal ring, giving a clean 18cm circle that sits close to the wall at only 5cm deep. Two narrow slots cut through the rim, so a little light escapes sideways and traces the outline of the fixture after dark. The matt black finish stays quiet against brick, render and timber cladding alike, in daylight as well as at night.

Light passes through the full face of the acrylic diffuser rather than a small aperture, which spreads a soft warm glow across the wall instead of a hard spot. The LED module is fitted at the factory and draws up to 13W, so there are no bulbs to buy and no lamp changes to plan for. An IP65 rating means the fitting is sealed against dust and against water jets from any direction.

That seal lets it cope with driving rain on an exposed elevation, so it suits a porch, a terrace, a garden wall or a run along the side of a house where a welcoming tone matters more than raw brightness. The shallow depth keeps it clear of doors and gates. Outdoors the acrylic face collects road film and pollen over a season, and a damp cloth with the power isolated clears it.
