Verdow Wood Beam 3 Light Pendant

The Verdow hangs a short length of pale timber horizontally on two chains and drops three cage lanterns beneath it on thick jute rope. Trailing artificial ivy is wound along the beam and down the ropes, so the fitting brings texture and greenery to a ceiling that would otherwise carry a plain shade. Each lantern is a small metal cage with a fine mesh band around its base, framing the bulb rather than hiding it away.

Bulbs are not included and the fitting takes three E27 screw lamps, so the style of bulb is open to preference and a filament shape suits the cage frames well. Wood and metal together give the Verdow a farmhouse character rather than a polished one, and the beam measures 70cm, which sets the spread of the three lanterns. The chain is adjustable, so the drop can be set to clear a table or a counter.

That length reads well over a long dining table, a kitchen island or a bar counter, where three separate points of light cover more of the surface than one central shade. The mix of timber, chain and rope means the fitting has some weight to it, so the ceiling fixing should be made into a joist rather than plasterboard alone. Dust the ivy and the cages with a soft dry brush now and then.
