Vestro Stainless Steel Path Post Light

The Vestro stands 60cm above the ground on a slim stainless steel column, tall enough to read as a marker along a path but low enough to keep the glare below eye level. The matt silver surface is the reason stainless steel keeps turning up in gardens: it sits comfortably next to render, brick or timber and it does not date.

A round base plate 9.8cm across spreads the load and gives a clean finish where the post meets paving or a lawn edge. Near the top, a clear section is split into two bands by a metal ring, so light escapes sideways in a full circle and lands on the ground either side of the post. Epistar brand LEDs sit behind that section, putting out 1000 lumens at 3000 kelvin, a warm white that suits a garden far better than a cold blue-white.

A run of them marks the line of a path, a driveway edge or a planted border without lighting the whole garden, and the full circle spread means they work in the middle of a bed as well as along a wall. The LED is integrated and included, so there is no bulb to buy and nothing to swap out season by season. Keep the clear section clear of soil splash and cut back planting that would block the sideways spread.
