Industrial styling only works when the hardware is honest about itself, and this sconce is: an exposed metal backplate, a simple swept arm and a shallow shade, all in a dark finish that shows its edges rather than hiding them. Three switch options change how you use it. The plain version runs off a wall switch and disappears; the pull chain gives you a light you can operate from the bed or the chair without getting up; the dimmer lets you take it down to a low glow in the evening. Choose it with or without a 220-240V bulb included, and note that the arm projects far enough to light a page properly rather than just washing the wall.

This is a hardwired mains fitting for indoor use. It must be installed by a qualified electrician, with the circuit isolated first, and the wall checked for pipes and cables before drilling. Use a fixing rated for your wall type. Choose a warm filament-style bulb rather than a bright cool one, which suits the fitting far better.
