Vinyl Record Wall Clock, 30cm

A wall clock shaped and finished as a twelve-inch record, 30cm across, with the grooves and the centre label reproduced across the face. The hands sweep over the label the way a stylus would, which is the whole joke and the reason it works better in a music room, a home bar or a study than anywhere it would need to be read at a glance.

Nine printed designs are offered, running from plain black pressings to brighter graphic labels, so the clock can be picked to suit the wall it is going on rather than being taken as it comes. The plate is 9mm plastic weighing around 400g, light enough to hang from a picture hook and far less fragile than an actual record would be.

The movement is a silent sweep, so it will not tick against a quiet room. Hung as a group of three or four in different designs it reads as a deliberate arrangement rather than a novelty, which is generally the better way to use a clock like this. Wipe it with a dry cloth rather than a damp one, and check the wall for concealed pipes and cables before drilling into plaster or masonry above head height.
