Wall Mounted Brass Basin Mixer

Taking the tap off the basin and putting it on the wall changes a bathroom more than almost any other single swap. It clears the rim completely, which makes a stone or countertop bowl look far better and makes the whole thing easier to wipe down. This mixer is built for that job: a single lever set into a flat wall plate, with a spout that curves out and down in one continuous line.

The body is solid brass throughout, which is not negotiable on a wall-mounted fitting - the connections sit inside the wall and you do not want to be opening tiling in three years. The lever controls temperature and flow together and moves with a weighted, damped feel rather than a loose rattle. Four finishes are offered: rose gold, matt black, chrome and a warm polished gold.

Fixings and mounting hardware are supplied. Wall-mounted taps need the supply pipework brought to the right height and projection behind the tiling, so this is a job to plan before the wall is finished. Unless you are genuinely confident working with concealed plumbing, have this one fitted by a qualified plumber, because a slow leak behind a tiled wall is both expensive and difficult to trace.
