Wave Form USB Desk Lamp 20cm

A single curve of metal folded back on itself, with the LED hidden inside the fold so the light comes out along the underside of the wave and the source is never visible. It is a sculptural object that happens to light a desk, and it does the second job better than most decorative lamps because the indirect throw means no glare on a screen and no hot spot on a page.

At 20.5 centimetres wide and 11 tall it takes up very little of a desk, a shelf or a windowsill, and the low profile means it will sit under a wall-mounted shelf where a conventional lamp would not. The outer surface is metal and the base is a moulded ABS and polycarbonate shell weighted enough to stay put. There is nothing to adjust and nothing to knock over.

It runs from a USB cable, which is supplied, so it can be powered from a laptop, a socket adaptor or a power bank. A touch control on the base dims the output and switches between warm white and neutral white - warm for the evening, neutral for working. Because the cable terminates in a USB plug you will need a UK mains USB adaptor if you are not plugging it into a computer; use a good quality fused one.
