Wood-Effect Hallway Ceiling Light

Entrance halls take more punishment than any other room and usually get the least thought. This fitting is a straightforward answer: a shallow iron drum wrapped in a wood-effect band, with an acrylic face that spreads the light evenly across a small floor area. Thirteen centimetres deep, so it clears a coat hook and a tall visitor, and simple enough that it works equally well on a landing or in a utility room.

The smaller 20cm version draws twelve watts and puts out around 960 lumens, which is plenty for a hall, a porch lobby or a walk-in cupboard covering three to six square metres. The 30cm steps up to nineteen watts and 1520 lumens for a larger hallway, a small bedroom or a good-sized landing, lighting roughly six to ten square metres without needing a second fitting anywhere along the run.

Brown and a lighter wood tone are offered, and each size comes in warm or cold white. Warm suits a hall that opens onto living space; cold is better where you want to see what you are doing, such as a utility area. The LED is integrated, the fitting is hardwired at 220 to 240 volts, and it is rated for dry indoor locations only rather than bathrooms or porches open to the weather.
