Wooden Bird Rechargeable Night Light

A simplified bird shape turned and shaped from wood, with the light glowing out from beneath the body rather than from any visible bulb. The grain is left showing under a light finish, which gives it the warmth of a small wooden ornament and stops it from reading as a gadget. Set on a bedside table or a shelf it holds its own by day and does its work quietly at night.

It runs on an internal rechargeable battery topped up over a lead, so once it is charged there is nothing trailing across the bedside table and nothing plugged in near a bed. The output is deliberately gentle: enough to see the room by, not enough to read a book by, which is exactly right for a landing, a nursery or the side of a bed where a brighter lamp would be unwelcome.

Two finishes are offered, a pale white wash and a soft pink, both keeping the wood grain visible. Dust with a dry cloth and keep the wood away from damp; do not wipe it with a wet cloth. This is a lamp rather than a toy - keep it out of reach of babies, supervise young children, and recycle the built-in battery at an approved collection point.
