Wooden Mini Elf Door 18cm

A small arched door cut from wood and painted by hand, made to be fixed low on a skirting board, at the foot of a chimney breast or against the trunk of a tree so it looks as though something very small lives behind it. It measures eighteen centimetres tall and twelve and a half wide, which is about the size of a paperback stood on end.

Seven finishes are offered. Four have a little glazed window set into the upper panel, in green, pink, red or yellow, and three are plain painted doors in red, blue or yellow. Each one carries moulded hinges, a handle and a step, picked out in a darker tone, and the paint is left slightly uneven so the door looks made rather than manufactured.

The back is flat, so it will sit against any smooth surface and can be fixed with a small mirror plate, a picture hook or a strip of exterior grade tape depending on where it is going. Wood moves with damp, so keep it out of driving rain if you use it outdoors, and dust it with a dry, soft brush. It is a decorative ornament rather than a toy.
