Aurora Crystal Glass Wind Chime

Hung in a window that catches morning or late-afternoon sun, this chime does two things at once. The faceted crystal drops split the light and scatter it across the walls and ceiling as slow-moving rainbows, and the glass rods below give a soft, high chime whenever the air moves — a quieter sound than metal tubes, closer to a set of small bells.

The drops are cut and polished glass, each one hung on nylon line at a slightly different length so the pattern of light shifts through the day as the sun moves. Above them sits a plain metal cap and ring, deliberately unornamented so nothing competes with the crystal.
