Black and Gold Acrylic Wall Light

A slim bar forty-eight centimetres long and only three and a half deep, this wall light throws light both upward and downward from a single fitting. That double wash is what makes long, narrow lights like this useful in a hallway or beside a bed: the ceiling and the skirting both catch some light, so the wall reads as lit rather than spotlit. The metal body carries an acrylic diffuser that hides the LEDs completely.

Two finishes are offered. Black is the more graphic and holds a strong line against a pale wall, while gold is warmer and reflects a little of the light it produces back into the room, which softens the effect. Both are ten watt fittings producing between sixty and two hundred and forty-nine lumens, enough to light an area of roughly three to five square metres as a secondary or atmospheric light source.

Light tone is chosen at purchase: warm white at three thousand kelvin for bedrooms and living rooms, or cool white at six thousand for a hallway, a stairwell or a study. The fitting is hardwired rather than plug-in, so it needs a dedicated wiring connection. Have it installed by a qualified electrician, and isolate the circuit at the consumer unit before any work begins. It is rated for dry locations only.
