A retro-modern table lamp with a broad domed shade in polycarbonate, sitting on a slim matching stem. The dome is deep enough to hide the lamp completely from a seated eye line, so what you see is a disc of soft colour and a pool of light on the surface below. Four colours are offered: a strong orange, a clean white, a soft pink and a warm cream.
It measures 18cm across and 28cm tall, which is the right scale for a bedside table, a hall console or the end of a kitchen worktop. Polycarbonate is a deliberate choice rather than a cost saving: it is far tougher than acrylic, it will not shatter if it is knocked off a bedside table, and it takes a solid pastel colour that glass cannot without looking painted. The shade is opaque, so the light goes down rather than out.
Output is 15W from an integrated LED, controlled by a simple button switch on the base rather than a touch panel, which is more reliable and easier to find in the dark. It runs from a USB lead or from mains via the supplied cable. Because it arrives with a USB lead rather than a UK plug, use a UK-approved USB power adapter. Wipe the shade with a damp cloth; avoid solvent cleaners.
