Moon Phase Mirror Wall Set

A row of mirrored acrylic discs cut to the phases of the moon, from a thin crescent through to a full circle and back again, hung as a single strand spanning around 140cm. The mirrored surfaces catch whatever light the room has and scatter it along the wall, which makes the piece work in a dim hallway as well as it does in a bright bedroom.

It is made from acrylic rather than glass, which matters twice over: the whole strand is light enough to hang from a single fixing, and there is no risk of glass breaking above a bed or a sofa. The finish is available in a cool silver or a warm gold, the gold reading softer against pale walls and the silver crisper against a dark one.

Hung horizontally above a headboard, run along a mantelpiece, or dropped vertically down a narrow stretch of wall beside a door, it fills the kind of awkward space that a single framed picture never quite manages to. It also travels well between rooms, since nothing about it is tied to one setting. Dust with a dry microfibre cloth, working lightly - mirrored acrylic scratches more easily than glass and should never be cleaned with alcohol, solvents or abrasive cream.
