Oval Backlit LED Bathroom Mirror

A backlit mirror lights a face far better than a fitting above it, because the glow comes from behind the glass at the same level as the person looking into it, filling in shadows under the eyes and chin instead of casting them. This one is a frameless oval, which softens a bathroom wall that is otherwise all straight lines of tile, cabinet and bath.

Construction is an aluminium alloy back frame with high-definition mirror glass, and the rating is IP56, which is the serious end for bathroom fittings: dust protected and able to take water jets. Three colour temperatures are selectable, at roughly thirty-five hundred, forty-five hundred and sixty-five hundred kelvin, so the mirror can be set warm for the evening or daylight-neutral for getting ready in the morning.

Dimming is stepless rather than in fixed stages, and an anti-fog heating element keeps the centre of the glass clear after a shower. Three sizes are offered: fifty by eighty, fifty by a hundred, and sixty by a hundred and twenty centimetres. It runs at mains voltage and can be plugged in or hardwired depending on the installation, which is a decision for your electrician and the zone it sits in.
