Pomera Amber Acrylic Dome Pendant

Pomera is a domed pendant moulded from tinted amber acrylic, with the warm, honeyed light that goes with a 1970s shape. The tint means the glow is soft rather than harsh, and a deeper brown edge runs around the rim to give the dome definition even when the lamp is switched off. A turned wooden finial in a walnut colour caps the shade and joins it to the black flex above it.

The shade measures 35 cm across and 23.5 cm tall, wide enough to spread light over a table without crowding the space beneath it. The cord is supplied at 150 cm and can be shortened at installation to set the drop over a table or a worktop. The fitting takes one bulb up to 40 W and is compatible with a dimmer switch, so the output can be brought down through an evening.

It suits a dining table, a kitchen island or a hallway, singly or in a row of two or three over a longer worktop. The fitting is sloped ceiling compatible up to 30 degrees, which makes it usable in a loft conversion or a kitchen extension as well as on a flat ceiling. Hardwire it to a ceiling point through a qualified electrician, and wipe the acrylic with a soft dry cloth only.
