Solid Wood Bathroom Shelf

Most bathroom shelving is aluminium or chrome, which is practical but does nothing to warm a room that is already full of hard, cold surfaces. This shelf is cut from solid wood and finished with a water-resistant coating, so it brings grain and tone into a space where almost everything else is tile, glass or porcelain. It suits rustic and farmhouse schemes particularly well, and it works just as happily in a plain white bathroom that needs one thing to soften it.

Two tones are available, a mid brown and a lighter, warmer brown, and both are finished so the grain still shows through.

The adhesive hook mounting means no drilling and no plugs, which matters if you are renting or working on freshly tiled walls. Fit it to a smooth, clean, dry surface and give the adhesive a full day to bond before loading. Load capacity depends entirely on how well the adhesive has bonded, so build up gradually rather than filling it on day one. Wipe with a damp cloth and avoid leaving standing water on the timber.
