Vintage Tufted Microfibre Sofa Cover

A plush microfibre blend worked in a symmetrical tufted pattern, so the surface has real depth rather than being flat cloth with a print on it. The tufting catches the light and gives an old sofa some texture back, which is often what a tired three-seater actually needs more than a new colour.

The backing is the practical half. A non-slip finish holds the cover in place through an evening of people sitting down and getting up, which is the usual failure point with a draped throw. This is still a laid-and-tucked cover rather than a tailored fitted one, but it stays put far better than a plain woven throw of the same size.

Three lengths are offered at a constant 180cm width: 130cm for a two-seater, 180cm for a three-seater, and 230cm for a large sofa or a corner section. Six colours run from brown, beige and two greys to a warmer orange and green. It protects against spills, stains and everyday wear, and it is machine washable, which is the point of a protector. Wash cool with similar colours and dry on a low setting. Smooth the tufting flat with a hand while the cover is drying and it will settle back into shape.
