Waterfall Spout Basin Mixer

A waterfall spout turns the tap itself into the feature. Instead of a closed nozzle, the water runs over an open lip and falls as a flat sheet, which is quiet, looks considerably better than a jet, and makes a plain basin worth looking at. It suits a countertop bowl particularly well, where the spout sits above the rim and the sheet has room to form properly.

The body is brass with a ceramic plate valve inside, giving a smooth quarter-turn action and a clean shut-off that will not start weeping after a year. Four finishes are offered: an antique bronze with real warmth to it, a matt black, a bright chrome and a polished gold. Each is deck mounted through a single hole and weighs in under two kilograms.

Two heights are available. The standard is right for a conventional inset or semi-recessed basin. The tall version is intended for countertop bowls, where a standard tap would sit too low and the waterfall would land on the rim. Measure the height of your bowl before choosing between the two, and check that your supply pressure suits an open-spout design, which needs a steadier flow than a conventional aerated nozzle.
